Passengers coming from any European countries included in the Schengen area are not requested to show their passport at the arrival, while passengers from outside the Schengen area must exhibit their passport and stop at the customs desk for controls. Warning! Passengers flying with the air company Martinair, no matter their country of origin, after landing shall be accompanied in hall 3 to be checked through. Those who don’t wish to pass through customs are invited to inform the air company, which will arrange their arrival in hall 1 with a separate bus service.
Passengers from countries within the Schengen area will only have to show their ticket and passport at check-in, in order to get the boarding card necessary to access the aircraft. Check-in booths are located in the departure area (Departure halls) 1, 2 e 3. Here you must look for the booth of the air company you are flying with..
Hand luggage
Each passenger is entitled to bring one hand luggage on board. Size and weight must be approved by the air company at check-in. Should the hand luggage not be approved, it will travel as normal luggage.
Important: it is strictly prohibited to carry certain items on the cabin, so you should always make sure that they are not contained in your hand luggage. The most common banned items are scissors (also the small ones), wire cutters, pencil-sharpener, cutlery, tin-opener and corkscrew. Metal nail polishers should also be avoided (since they appear as knives under the metal detectors). All these articles can be put in the normal luggage which is not travelling with you. What happens if I forget the scissors in my hand luggage? Luggages are not controlled at check-ins, but only when you pass through the metal detector before getting to the boarding gate. If a banned item is found in your luggage during the X-ray inspection, it will be requisitioned.
The countries included in the Schengen area are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Island, Italy, Luxembourg, Holland, Portugal, Spain (including the Canary Islands), and Switzerland.
